Links
Travel links you with people. My home "address book" has thousands of peoples' contact info from all over the world. As a word of advice since 9-11. Back up everything. Invest in a cd burner or zip drive if you have photos or floppy discs for text. Also, print out a hard copy. Ironically, I even downloaded the Unibomber manifesto on my computer. Ponder that one. (I don't know him, I'm just saying that permenance is illusion.) The older I get, the more I realize it's impossible to stay close to everyone all the time. But I treasure all my friends, old and new. It also still happens to be the age of aquarius.
If anyone can help me figure out how to post a guestbook on this site or a counter (to see how many people are looking at it) please email me at gorgeousmagazineny@onebox.com
I am autistic and have many talents:
music, art, dance, swimming, martial arts, writing, photography, painting, claymaking, foreign languages, and drum-making.
When it comes to computers, though, I really feel retarted. Any help on this site is appreciated.
(As my parents told me, I was put in the "gifted and talented elementary school class" for a reason)

I was always bad at that Monopoly game. I liked Clue better.

The Humane Society
I used to work for one in Nacogdoches Texas. It was a great experience. And great education for kids. I support all Animal Welfare Programs
The Women's Shelter
I was a volunteer for The Women's Shelter of East Texas. I support independent and Strong women globally. I strive for balance between submission and domination, dark and light, male and female, positive and negative. Too much of anything in one extreme, I believe causes heartache and violence. I was a womens' studies minor in College. I am a liberal feminist.
Transy House
Moving to New York I became more educated and associated with many transgender communities, including this one. I support any politically active trans groups promoting positive social change. In memory of Sylvia Rivera and the Stonewall Riots.
The Museum Of Motion Image (The Motion Picture Museum)
I am an advocate for independent cinema. I am a member and support this museum in Queens, New York, where I live. The movies are educational, historical, and entertaining. Star Wars was always a favorite. Lucas wrote it after living in Japan. I also wrote a screenplay in Japan which was registered in the United States Copywrite Office in the Library of Concress under the name Johanna C. Taylor. My pen name is Johanna Veltran.
The Museum of American Folk Art and the Lerner Foundation
I support any and all art museums or galleries. This one is especially interesting as it is linked to the Lerner Foundation supporting artists who are mentally challenged and self-taught.
The National and City Park Sevices
I have worked for the National Parks Service. In Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. I also enjoy the Socratese Scultupre park in Queens, a new outdoor city park which has free painting and Tai Chi classes on the weekends. I was also in a riot in the Thompkins Square Park in the East Village when I was 18, protesting ever increasing rent costs in cities, which pushes the minorities and the poor back onto the streets or commuting for hours to get to work every day.
National Public Radio and Radio Free Asia
I am against censorship in any format. I am all for "world news." Not "one sided news." I am all for world news in all of the world's many languages. While living in Japan, I got to see on TV just how upset the Chinese were about us "accidentally" bombing their embassy. They didn't show this in the USA.
Native News
My native American newsletters from Okalahoma were burned, but not by me. I used to collect them. It is sad. But I was happy to see that Native Americans are doing anti-nuclear campaigns online. We can only hope that they are also praying the campaigns offline. Remember the good coyote. Watch out for bars, casinos, salem and guns. What you create you can also destroy. Stupid white man.
